November rolls around each year. That’s the beauty of the Melbourne Cup Carnival, even if racing isn’t your thing,
there is so much atmosphere, excitement, fashion and fun that it’s the party that everyone must attend at least once

Below are our two packages; the 3 Night Option, and the 5 Night Option. Our 3 night package has you in Melbourne for Melbourne Cup Day on Tuesday 2nd November, while our 5 night package also includes the Victoria Derby Race Day on Saturday 30th October. There is also a heap of optional extras and we do have some flexibility with travel dates and package inclusions, so if something doesn’t quite suit you, let us know and we can cater the package to suit your personal requirements.

We’ll sort you out with airfares, airport transfers, 3 night’s hotel accommodation at the 4-Star Harbour View Apartment Hotel (or upgrade to the 5-Star Medina Grand Hotel), General Admission tickets to the Melbourne Cup (upgrades available) and Mike Henry Travel Insurance. Everything you need, except the winner of the Melbourne Cup, we can’t help you with that one!

The Melbourne Cup is one of those events that every one should experience at least once in their lifetime, it’s hard to sum up, but 100,000+ people partying like crazy gives you some idea. Often you can get caught up in the atmosphere and forget that your even there for the horse racing!
Our 3 Night Package sees you depart Auck/Wgtn/Chch on Sunday 31st October, arriving in Melbourne, you’ll be spending 3 nights at the Harbour View Apartment Hotel in the central city. By the time Tuesday rolls around you’ll be talking like a regular bookie in anticipation of the Melbourne Cup. Then you can either fly home on Wednesday, or stay on a few extra nights to recover and spend your winnings (hopefully!).
This package includes return airfares, airport transfers, 3 night’s hotel accommodation, General Admission ticket to the Melbourne Cup and Mike Henry Travel Insurance.
NOT INCLUDED in this package is the $25 New Zealand departure tax (if departing from Wellington).
Upgrade to the 5-Star Medina Grand Hotel
- The luxurious Medina Grand Hotel is located right in the central city and offers
studio rooms, as well as 1 and 2 bedroom apartments.

Racing Ticket Upgrades - There are a number of ticket upgrades available for Melbourne Cup Day. Please note, your first choice, will depend on availability. See the PDF map for stand locations. The prices are:

Flights - While our package pricing is for flights departing from Auckland, Wellington or Christchurch, let us know if you would prefer to fly out of a different airport and we can cater the quote to suit you.
Accommodation - At Harbour View Apartment Hotel there are a number of apartment options, please specify on your quote request form, which option you would prefer. The options are; Standard Apartment (Queen bed), 1-Bedroom Apartment (Queen or Twin bedding), 2-Bedroom Apartment (Triple bedding), 3-Bedroom Apartment (Quad bedding).
Insurance - We include Mike Henry ‘Aussie Essentials’ Travel Insurance with our packages. If you already have made arrangements for travel insurance, let us know. If you wish to know more about our Mike Henry Travel Insurance, let us know and we can send you a brochure.
Melbourne Cup Tickets - This package includes General Admission tickets. If you want to upgrade your tickets, but are unsure about the best option, just let the Boys Trip staff know, we’ve been there, so we can advise which tickets will best suit you.

Our 5 Night Package sees you depart Auck/Wgtn/Chch on Friday 29th October, arriving in Melbourne, you’ll be spending 5 nights at the Harbour View Apartment Hotel in the central city. On the Saturday, you’ll head along to the Victoria Derby Day, one of the biggest race days in Australia, other than the Melbourne Cup. It’s a great chance for you to perfect your betting before Cup Day! Then on the Tuesday, it’s the big one; Melbourne Cup Day. On Wednesday 3rd November, we have you flying back home, hopefully stopping in Duty Free to spend some of your winnings!
